help!! joining different size granny squares

so what is the best method of joining different sized granny squares.
i have them all laid out in the right pattern but cant work out how to join then correctly.
HELP!!!

Ummm I tend to single crochet (US term) or double crochet (UK/Aus term) everything together. (they're the same stitch)
