    Health Coaching

Anyone heard of it before? Used one? Or perhaps you are one or want to become one?

I've only just heard about health coaching and I think I may want to become one but I'd like to understand more and what the market is for them.

What have you found out? Tell us what a Health Coach is? I'm yet to meet one person who I agree with about all they have to say about health so it would be interesting to know what a health coach believes in. It sure does sound interesting

A major employer of health coaches is private health insurers. As an extra service to offer their clients to keep them healthy. Health coaches employed by PHI have to follow a pretty "conventional" health model for their advice and it's totally not what I would personally be interested in doing. That also means that most of the training courses follow the same teaching on health (healthy food pyramid, low fat etc etc).

I'm pretty interested in training with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. Apparently they teach that pretty much any style of diet (vegan to paleo) is "right" if it's what is right for you. So they cover all diet types and in the end you can specialise further if you want.

I would like to become a self employed private consultant for people wanting to heal their children from autism. I'd health coach them through using the GAPS protocol and use my teaching experience to help guide them with accessing services and navigating educational options.
