    Swear words

    So embarrassed.

My 2.5yr old DD has picked up some bad words that I said and now wont stop saying it.

    Her catchphrase is

    For (f word) Sake!

Help. I swear I dont say it that often

She noticed the balls was missing from her golf set this morning and went For f Sake

How do I curb her of this phrase

Thanks hun. How long do I have to ignore it for? She has been saying it randomly (maybe a few times a week for a couple of weeks). We have been ignoring it so far but wondering whenit will stop

I usually change what DD2 is saying if she accidentally hears something she isn't meant to

I say "oh you mean 'For Pete's Sake' or 'Farrr Out'" etc.. eventually she replaces the swear work with the not so bad one.

Definately don't make a big deal about it & what Nai suggested, repeat a suitable phrase instead.

ahh thanks so much! my 2.5 yr old son has a 15 yr old uncle on his daddys side who i dont allow him to see anymore because after spending a few days with the uncle and grandparents he came home with a very nasty addition to his ever growing vocabulary. F***ing hell and no F*** mum and even giving me the finger (although its his pointer) he uses all of these words in all the right context and i have been ignoring it for months its so embarrassing in public and its really frustrating as his parent to have him know things ive protected him from. i recently started saying no you mean far out and that sometimes comes out instead and the finger is slowly being taken over by thumbs up. definitely encourage your 2.5 yr old to change his words without giving the reaction they are after. i much prefer when my two yr old calls me a stink bum

We've had this too. We completely ignore it, no reaction to it at all. It took a couple of weeks but he stopped saying 'F'. He picked up a couple more and we're doing the same. When he says other new words we acknowledge them it seems to work

I have the same problem with the same catch phrase and the B.S! I try to ignore it.
