Still in hospital for now, thinking maybe home tomorrow or Monday, not sure which just yet. Still waiting for my milk to come in, how long did you girls take? (just cause I'm curious)
Hi CK!!
I had colostrum straight away. My milk came in just before I left hospital. It was Day 4. I could tell when it came in. I felt emotional then saw her feed with the milk. Then the poos changed to grainy mustard all at the same time.
Mine came in day 2 and 3 and 4 and 5... lucky me gets an oversupply and extreme engorgement... I expressed 160 ml in two pumps whilst in hospital just to relieve, not drain, and just pumped 70 ml for same reason
Wow, that's a lot! I think mine is coming in today - boobs have been a bit hot and sore, plus DS has been feeding a heck of a lot today. Which has given him a bellyache, he's kinda unsettled atm.
We came home today, was getting cabin fever in a bad way - so enjoying my own space and being able to roam around the house.
Lilly was born on the 7/11/11, hello to everyone from us!
Wow that is alot! My Milk came in on day 4, but has been slow to get going even with all the feeding DD was doing. My milk supply is slow at increasing due to C/S so I'm needing to comp a little at the moment. But hoping that will fix it'self over the next few months I'm pumping an hour after feeds to provide extra stimulation. Down to only a 30ml comp now from 70ml yay us!
I know what you mean about being nice to be home, I was in hospital for 6 days, and even with hubby there there is no place like home.
Yay, my boy is such a little champ! He's starting to work out his day/nights so he's awake a bit more after feeds in the daytime (which means lots of snuggles and playing) and then settles well and sleeps at night, waking for a feed every 2.5-3hrs and then back into bed
Well Miss P is feeding 3-4hourly, sometimes stretching to 5hours overnight. I'm only having to get up to her once overnight as I feed before I head to bed and it works for us. My boobs have finally settled to a really comfortable state but still get a bit sore sometimes. Master P (17months) is doing a good job at trying to drain them out for me. Miss had a bad case of gunky eye yesterday, it was glued shut all day, red and swollen. This morning though there is barely anything and has been good all day... go figure... but it saved a trip to the dr
Hi AMumma... congrats and wow on being on BB 3hrs post birth!! Your birth story sounds intriguing... my labour was 1hr 35min first stage and 18min second stage!
AM you should have some paperwork that sets out your stages and describes your birth and pregnancy. I've got mine in my blue book for Jessica. The hospital stuck it in there.
Hmmm, mine doesn't - just states vacuum extraction due to variable heartrate in second stage but nothing on duration of labour.
Alex has been doing nothing but feed since about 3pm....small breaks in between, but feels like I'm permanently parked on the couch....my butt's going to sleep.
Hi ladies i am giving the right breast a break for the next 24 hours ATM it's pretty grazed up and the midwife has told me to just pump. Got plenty of milk there so shouldn't be too much of a drama just feeding off the one side for a day and then hopefully i don't have to worry about feeding her the expressed milk cos i really don't want to introduce a bottle if i can help it. Gotta get Miss A to learn her night and day routine me thinks as she wants to keep me up all night cluster feeding.
