We love Geppetto's Workshop. Their biggest store is in Sassafrass in Vic, but they also have one in Sorrento and Olinda. Their wooden range is sensational. We've gotten blocks, puzzles and musical instruments from them and they gave the biggest range of puppets I've ever seen.
Can't remember if you are in Melbs hun, Windmill in Balwyn is great for lots of educational stuff - they have a website too. Pricey but nice! Honeybee have a lot of nice stuff as well online I think!
I usually buy online from My Wooden Toys, I also like the wooden range from the Early Learning Centre. We have blocks, a wooden trike, puzzles, trolley, shape sorter, stacking rings, petrol station, Moo's fav is the activity lock box which has about a dozen doors with different locks on them!
can't remember if you are in Melboune but Windmill have great stuff - they are in Balwyn and have a website too! Also Honeybee toys online have good stuff.
The internet is my friend...too bad I can't post links, but google search a company called Timbertop Toys. Might need to contact them to find stockists but they have some absolutely *amazing* stuff.
love ecotoys.
Love Gepptto's in Sassafras as well, but it can be quite expensive - have found the same toy for a fraction of the price at some other plavces.
ALDI surprisingly has some great wooden toys (sometimes the same toy is priced heaps in toy shops) from time to time. I stock up when they have a sale.
Have also bought some things from Queen Victoria Market in melb as well ( only things I have seen previously at Geppeto's as I'm worried about the paints used on them).
The childrens store 'Seed' brings in a wooden toy range for Christmas. I have over the last couple of years bought my Niece (now 3) some lovely wooden toys for Christmas. I also like felt toys. I found a great sandwich, burger and pizza all made from felt and you just make your own pizza etc.
I love wooden toys too Heaven. I agree that plan toys are fantastic but they can be a bit pricey. I have got some good cheaper wooden toys from suprising places: kmart has a range, crazy clarks sometimes have some and Aldi as well. I recently got a 3 storey wooden garage for DS1 from Aldi ($50) and also a pull along toy (only $10). So keep an eye on their catalogues.
I also am a fan of the Early Learning Centre and of K and K toys.
