    Favourite double pram

What is your favourite double pram?? DD has been carried from birth. She's never been in the stroller. But it's already getting so hot, up to 35degrees already and I had dd in the carrier for about 90mins this morning whilst I ran errands and she was so hot and cranky and completely flipping out by the time we were done. She was trying to climb out of the carrier. So I never thought I would need a double pram. But I don't think we're going to get through summer with the carrier alone. So I want to know what is best to get. I don't want anything too bulky or heavy (I have an umbrella stroller for ds2) because I am tiny and I had a phil and ted and was always opening it up on myself. And nothing too dear because I think it will be only 8 or 9 months or so before ds2 can upgrade to walking most places. Who uses one's with toddler seats?? That way its not useless when the time comes that ds2 doesn't need it anymore.

We have the strider plus ... my girls are 2 yrs 8mths and 17 mths and I take it everywhere! If DD1 is getting tired she climbs in the bottom and will even sleep in there ... I love it! Bottom takes a heap of shopping if DD1 is happy walking!

We have an old style (hand me down) 3 wheeler valco with a toddler seat. This works pretty well for us and DS1 likes to sit up the front. However it's not light and it is big (so many doubles are). It is about 13kg.

We also have a side by side umbrella stroller (Maclaren, also a hand me down) and it is good for level smooth surfaces (eg walking around shopping centres) but not good on grass or rough footpaths. It is about 10kg.

A friend has the city mini double and it is only 7.5kg and folds up smallish. But it is quite wide and I don't like trying to move it around shops.

I have a P&T Dash and I thought the P&T range were one of the lightest and narrowest of the double prams, I'm interested if you find anything else that is smaller and fits what you are after. All the other double prams we looked at were (in our opinion) HUGE. I also love the 2nd seat on the dash. I used it often to give me more room to put larger things when out shopping. I've used it heaps actually!

Phil and Ted Dash and love it as cherished mentioned useful to put stuff in 2nd seat if no child in their. We only use our phil and ted now for train and walks, as DS1 in the last 3 months has decided walking everywhere is better! So have a stroller with skateboard for when he is tired.

I recently got the Baby Jogger City Select and I LOVE IT!!! It's one of the best things I've ever bought. I had a different tandem that I hated at it was practically un-pushable with the two kids in it. I had just been using the single pram for my DS and carrying my DD in the ergo. But with baby 3 on the way I knew I needed something good, so I did a lot of research and found out that 4 people I know have the City Select, and all 4 of them raved about it and how great it was. They certainly weren't telling lies, because it's amazing. There is lots of ways you can face the seats to suit the age and temperament of your kids. At the moment my DD doesn't like to not be able to see me, so she is closest to me and facing me, and DS is very inquisitive so he is at the front of the pram facing out. You'd be amazed how often I've been stopped by people that comment on the pram or ask about it! Oh, and the seats are super light so you can take them off and chuck them in the car so easily, and the frame folds down to almost nothing!

Yeah that's what I do now, I have ds2 in a stroller and dd in my beetlebum carrier. But it's getting so hot already dd is getting quite upset in the carrier when I do my errands down town which is why I'm hunting for a pram.

Seems like striders and city selects seem to be the favorites so far.
