    Weight loss shakes

Are there any safe shakes to use while breastfeeding?

There is a higher calories per day you need if your breastfeeding - I think they say you can't use while breastfeeding for that reason. If you stuck to their plan without adding any extra then you wouldn't be getting enough.

I always talk to my gp about this stuff lol - can you chat to a chemist about it?

Thanks for replying. Yeah I will speak to a chemist about it before buying anything. Think I'm safer going back to boiled veggies etc

I think if bf, you are suppose to eat an additional 300-500 cals per day. When I am trying to lose weight I try to follow a 1200 cal per day diet, so yours would be 1500-1800 cals.

I did Xndo with DH when DS was about 6months old. THey were OK with me feeding but rang to consult their dietician first. I could only have on shake a day and had to have extra calcium.
TBH it did work but my already established good supply suffered while I was on it. I stopped after a fortnight due to that.

A while after that I got back onto Calorie King and allowed myself 1800 cals per day. Far more successful and I didn't feel so wiped out I couldn't exercise.

Did you end up finding out from the chemist?

I've just found out in pregnant and because I have a whole bunch of shakes in my pantry I thought it might be ok to still have them for breakfast - not really as a weight loss attempt but as a convenient breakfast thing lol

Weight Watchers have a BF program which worked well for me. I don't think you can have most of the shakes while BF or pregnant though.

Congrats on your BFP! I didnt worry tbh, I just thought its healthier to eat fresh fruit and vegies, consume more water yada yada. I also have a fitness pal app that I downloaded and it tracks your calories etc. so I've just been using that.

Nai - I've heard weight watchers is good too, but at the moment while im on mat leave I'd rather watch where we spend out money.
