    Pressing flowers

There are so many gorgeous flowers around at the moment and I'm wanting to do some flower pressing with DD now - so we can use them in craft over the Christmas holidays.

Do you press flowers with your children?

    Any tips?

I am going to buy a frame to make a display of them to hang when they are all finished

perhaps research which flowers are suitable as I think there are some that aren't?

I've tried numerous times, even had a flower press! but I failed dismally. Mine always ended up moldy or squished mess.

It's a GREAT idea though! My DD loves to pick flowers so this is probably something she'd like doing too

Pansies and rose petals work great and flat flowers things like daisies are to big in the middles. I had a flower press as a kid and I am giving the girls one for Christmas.

I've never had a flower press - we used to use our encyclopaedia set lol.

Just been reading about it and it looks like placing them between two sheets of wax paper between some heavy books is enough - just need to make sure that they aren't wet at all.

Just put wax paper on my shopping list
