    Crunchy nappies!

    Hi all you clothie experts,

Am getting a set of MCNs ready for a new baby (use a different set with DS atm - they leak all the time but that's another story!!)

Have washed a couple of times with Rocking Green, have soaked, have tumble dried. They are still really crunchy and at the moment I couldn't use them on a newborn. They are cotton and terry toweling for the night nappies. (They are AI2s)

I will still use a fleece liner so that will help a little but even so they are just so crunchy! Any ideas?

    TIA xo

What about just a straight rinse with 1/2 vingegar and then scrunching them before and after drying?
Perhaps dry in the shade. I can't dry anything in the sun ATM as they dry too quick and get crunchy.

Scrunch them up or dry them in the dryer on low.

Vigorously rub them together or pop them in a dryer. The dryer gets tthem really soft but the rubbing together gets rid of most of the crunchiness if you don't have a dryer.

Do they have a PUL layer (ie don't need a cover)? If thats the case you can't put them in the dryer

^yeah that. If you put PUL on the drier it melts and delaminates from the nappy and they lose their waterproofness

Thanks so much for all your replies. Will try another wash with vinegar and low-drier. Most don't have PUL (AI2s) - will make sure I don't dry the AIOs!!
