Packing today, leaving tomorrow ... Toddler needs?

    Hi there

So, we're flying out early tomorrow. The house-and-dog-sitter is organised, the house is (almost) clean, I just need to pack.

We've never done this with DS!!

This is my list so far (just for DS):

    • sippy cup x2
    • smacks for the plane
    • pram
    • bathers x 2
    • towel/hooded towel x 2
    • hat x 2
    • lots of suncream
    • baby panadol and dropper
    • bottles x 2
    • nappies
    • 5 sets of light clothes
    • 2 sets of warm clothes
    • light pyjamas
    • sleeping bag
    • wipes
    • plastic bags
    • waterproof sheet?
    • beach hut
    • bucket and spade
    • toys x 5
    • books x 3
    • nail clippers
    • cotton buds

what am I missing? There is a cot and highchair there, and we won't need a carseat.

Anything special he uses for bedtime, like a night light or music?

I know you said wipes, but the other ones for sticky hands?

just remember unless you are going somewhere remote you can always pop into a big w or supermarket and pick up anything you need except favourite toys/blankets. I eventually only took enough nappies for 24hrs then bought a pack where ever we were, save a lot of luggage space. I did chuck a thermometer in when they were little with the panadol.

    Have a great trip

Do you use a baby monitor? We don't use one anymore but have used it when going away if bedrooms are far away from living rooms!

I think you've forgotten the kitchen sink. And the nanny. I find them essential when travelling.

    Have a lovely time.

And how could I forget the personal masseuse. Critical.

I assume the second thing on the list is supposed to be snacks, not smacks

You sound very organized hun. Wouldn't have expected anything else.

    Have a great time!!!!!

Oh my gooseberries - thanks, Fab!! How could I forget the nanny ... hopefully, he will fit in my carryon ... the personal masseuse situation is contained though - I'm bringing DH and his handy hands

Ocean ... um, yes, I think DS would much prefer snacks, rather than smacks!!

Now to do the actual packing (also not to be confused with wither snacking or smacking...)

after all of this - we only actually forgot two things ....

    my bathers, and DH's hat!!!

everyone was supposed to have 2 x bathers and 2 x hats - we got all of DS's, and then just DH's bathers and my hats ...

luckily, there were plenty around in Qld for the purchasing

I have a love/hate thing with buying bathers. Love what they represent, hate the actual DOING. How was preggy bathers shopping???

I always found bathers shopping in Qld much better than down here. Many more options.

I had a black singlet top for the gym, and so I just bought some boardies ... I've never owned them - but they were fine!

But my normal bathers at the mo is a tankini set - perfect for the bump.
