    Question Presents for/from siblings

    I just have a question,

I have got DD a gift "from the baby" she will be getting a doll, a book and big sister tshirt. But I was wondering if DD should give the baby something?

It might be OTT and baby might get a few gifts so DD might feel left out hence the special gift from bub, so I wasn't sure if I should or not?

I don't think DD really gets it, she turned 2 recently and was NOT interested in her presents at all she just wanted to play with this stupid monkey toy she has had for ages

Is it overkill to get something from DD for the baby? or just leave it?

    Thoughts??

Maybe get her to choose something little herself hun?? Would she understand enough to go to a shop and have a look at a few things for the baby that she could choose herself?? Otherwise I wouldn't' really worry too much about it, it's nice that she is getting something from bub - we totally forgot about doing that, and turns out she fell totally in love with him once he was born so that was the best gift anyway!

Mmm in that case babe I wouldn't worry about it!! You will have enough other stuff going on anyway, and if she won't get it she probably won't even understand she has to give it to the baby etc. anyway ITMS!?

We got DS some trucks from DD when she was born, and he got to pick out a present for her. He is only 17months, but picked a "My 1st Teddy" for her - even when we tried to pick a different teddy, he grabbed the one he picked, cuddled it tight, and when we asked if that was for bub bub he nodded with a massive smile. He was keen to give it to her too, and always grabs it for her (and she has 3 others)

Hey Nae. DD is well into present giving and receiving now but I haven't bought her a gift for the baby. I did buy a gift for her from the baby though but mainly so she doesn't feel left out when the baby is getting all the pressies

As I'm not sure when #2 will arrive, I've bought a Lamaze toy to wrap and put under the Christmas tree for 'Nasi' just in case as I know DD will question it otherwise.

Moo is getting a pressie from the baby, it's a DVD & some felt book thing from memory, something to keep him occupied! He's a tiny bit older than your DD & is into gift giving/receiving in a big way so have decided to get him to give a gift to his new brother too. It's just a teddy bear that I wanted the new baby to have (same as the one we gave Moo when he was born) so I thought this might help Moo bond. Worth a go!

I'm not sure if i will get my DD something from the baby. She is not really into presents and i don't know if she even understands a baby is coming. Although a DVD for her might be a present to me too in the early days Might see how she goes at christmas with giving & getting presents and decide then,

I'm going onto Cafe Press when I get paid and buying DS a 'Big Brother' shirt, and I'm going to be buying a 'My baby sister' onesie for her from him
    I don't think it's overkill, I think it's sentimental
