It's beginning to look a lot like CHRISTMAS!!

After a bad week finding out DD has a hernia and will potentially need surgery, and taking her for xray today, my stress levels haven't been great - so yesterday, i had a mini meltdown at the state of the house, and went a little nuts on the "clean up ready for Christmas Deco's" cleaning

Today, DD was PERFECT while having her xray, so when we came home, we decided to unpack a few deco's for her to wake up to after her nap. The excitement in her face, the sparkle in her eye - and the absolute amazement at the things we already had on spurred us to keep going. and she was BRILLIANTLY behaved - to the point the only thing we didn't set up today was the lights outside, and the actual tree! everything else is up (and anyone that knows me can attest to that being about 10 150L tubs FULL of Christmas decos!! there is one tub DD and I are about to unpack together now while DH cooks dinner

but it's definitely starting to look (and smell!) like Christmas!! there are about 100 candles (holiday spices and peppermint/chocolate bark) smells out now too. mmmmmmm nom nom nom!

this thursday/weekend we'll put the tree up and the outside lights - and one Dec 1, we'll officially light it all up!

ooh, and we have a new tree topper coming - Tinkerbelllllllll for my little Tinkerbell fan!

So, I found the missing snow globe (and at least 20 other snow gloves, 4 candle holders and ummmmmmmm 10 jar candles. 50L tub full of missing bits. Oops!

Today hubby and I put up most of the lights outside. 5 sets of icicles (about 25m), 4 rope lights, and four different ropight decirations (snowflakes x3, star, Santa climbing rope and Santa flying a plane with a banner). Took pretty much all day , so we are exhausted. Looks awesome so was worth it though!

Two rope lights are so far homeless. They may come inside. The red and blue just didn't work anywhere we thought of!

Tree is up. Lights are on it, as is the topper and 1 bauble...and then I got either tired or distracted or both!

This is the latest ever I've had my tree up and decorated

What kind of example am I setting for DD?!?

Tehehe. I'm feeling a bit like that. It's all gotta get done! No lagging!!!

Apparently Santa arrives at the next town over tonight. DD has a gp appt about her hernia. If she is finished on time we may go and see him. DH is starting to ask about him a fair bit now

Gee your putting us to shame, tree won't be going up til the first and we don't have outside lights, although I would love to. Our house is at the bottom of a big hill and the only house around so would look awesome to come over the hill & BANG X-MAS!

Awesome BG - I love seeing your stuff, it helps me get into the spirit! All I have done this year is put my bunting up on the decking and Dh goes - it's not even December what are you doing We put our tree up on the first so not long to wait - eeeeps!!! So exciting!!! I would love outside lights too but our house is still unpainted and looks like a hovel from the front, but I might do the decking which we can see from inside! Ya'll have inspired me!

ETA: Hope your week has gotten better

Naw im so jealous of all your xmas decorating! We used to go cut a tree down on xmas eve then decorate it that night! Last year i couldn't wait that long so did it around the 12th... im thinking that I will be doing it even earlier this year! First I need to clean the house and make a space!
