DS1 has had a blister on his bottom for a while (about 10 days). It started to get better and then it got worse again and now has blisters also on his testicles. Poor little mite has been a bit grumpy with a tiny bit of a temperature as well. (I know I'd be grumpy if I had blisters on my bot!)
The pharmacist today said to take him the to GP as she thinks it might be school sores. Yes, it's an unusual area to get them! Our appointment isn't till tomorrow afternoon. So what can you tell me in the mean time?
I've been just giving him lots of nappy off time and changing nappy frequently. I've tried curash and also dabbing with some very diluted antiseptic. Should I be doing something different?
I don't think it is Impetigo - school sores. I think it sounds like Molloscum contagiousum - my kids had it a few years back and it what your little fella has sounds the same.
School sores are quite contagious so it may or may not be that. I think the trick here is that if what you're doing isn't making it better, it's time to get someone to look at it. Especially with the temperature as it may be a sign that a bacterial infection is ramping up or it may be a separate thing. I hope he's much better soon.
