    The Gruffalo

    Hi

The Gruffalo's Child is playing in the Seymour Centre in Sydney next May. At the moment The Gruffalo and The Gruffalos Child is one of DS's favourite books and he also loves watching The Gruffalo DVD. I am thinking of getting tickets but am wondering if he will be a little bit too young for a what I am assuming is a "stage production". He will be just over 2.5 when its on. Assuming that he doesn't stop wanting us to read the book and to watch the DVD I know he will definitely get that it is The Gruffalo but I am wondering if he will be just a bit too young? What do you think?

I know The Gruffalo was on in the Opera House recently. Did anyone go and if so what ages were their kids.

    Thanks NW3

we went, it was FANTASTIC! my child was 4.75 at the time. She could cope with sitting down (but bring a cushion for them to sit on, the chairs are for adults), but still got wriggly. It freaks some kids out, when the houselights go down, e.g at the start of the play. I don't think my child would have coped with the experience at 2.5yrs, but every kid is different, you know your child the best. i made sure to bring snacks and her water.

We were going to take DD1 to this a few months back, but we read on the advert that it was for older kids (think maybe 5yrs? and up). Im not entirely sure if that was the age recommendation, but I remember us dismissig it because of the age thing and we thought DD1 would be scared by it.
Im a bit peeved we missed it though, might give it a go next time when it comes along though and see how she goes. We can always leave if it gets to be too much for her I suppose
