On Friday DD10 told me she was kicked in the stomach, this would be the 5th time she has been kicked or punched by the same girl. I've had so much faith in the school until now, they put the girl on a behaviour plan and she has been getting detentions but it's not working. The school has not notified me once about these incidents which I find strange, if your child needs a bandaid they are given a slip. Years ago DS was punched in the face and the boy was immediately suspended but yet this girl can continue to bully my child. I will be speaking to the principal on Monday and letting her know how unhappy I am.
That is a bit shocking that nothing much has been done to help your DD and stop her repeatedly getting hurt. I hope that the school listens when you talk on Monday and some action is taking. Does not seem like the behaviour plan is working. Hugs for you and your DD
That's really bad Dianne. I would be making an appointment with the headmaster on Monday and insisting a plan is put in place to ensure your daughter is safe when in their care.
I'm so kicking myself for not saying something earlier, poor DD is friends with this girl, she can play nicely and DD has told me that when she starts to get angry she'll go and play with someone else but it doesn't always work for her. I'm lucky at least DD tells me what happens, imagine other children who suffer in silence.
Your poor DD Dianne. That school needs reporting. I would make a complaint with the Dept of Ed supervisor for that area. Hopefully you can sort this out or I would look at changing schools
You are going exactly the right way around complaining. See the headmaster first but if nothing dramatically changes in a week contact the Dept.
So often the boss needs some good ammunition to suspend a kid who is a nightmare for everyone. If you complain it might be just what's needed. Sometimes the dept is under pressure to keep certain kids "in the system" for various reasons and they are heaps of hard work for all the people involved in the school. It usually takes a bit of parent pressure to move these kids along.
If however you have a not so good boss at your school who is playing gender games (ie girls don't get treated as firmly as boys) then going to the dept is exactly what you have to do.
If the management plan is actually working there should be serious results for the bully if breaking the plan. There should also be safety systems in place for other students like your poor DD.
Good luck
I saw the principal yesterday and left her office feeling worse than before. I just feel she is not taking this seriously, I told her how stressed DD is getting and she said she will tell the girl she is not allowed to play with DD, we will see how that goes. She told me the mum has been supportive which is great but that doesn't help DD one little bit. When I asked why I am not informed about DD getting injured/bullied the reply was "she doesn't get seriously hurt". I will be making a call later today to the Department and see what suggestions they have for me.

That is really dissappointing. Bullying should not be a brushed off matter to deal with and any injury that is caused by someone else purposefully doing it is serious and should be told to the parent. Really not good enough. I hope the Department of education helps you more.
Very disappointing to hear that, I would definitely be giving the Dept of Ed a call and finding out what the next step is. Hope it all gets resolved before you have to take it any futher.
Not seriously injured?! So they are waiting till this girl breaks her nose or something worse? Sounds like the primary school I went to, the teachers were intimidated by the girls mum so did nothing even when she broke my nose...
