I think I worked it out - I went there for my final year of uni and got married that year They might have looked up records. My referee would have been glowing so I should have gotten a dame interview if that was the case (upset much ) Ah we'll - sorry mods this could be deleted now that my Sherlock brain has worked it out

Seriously, what a tool. And I am here all indignant thinking, how on EARTH did they know? Why would they just guess?? How dare they? Well I AM a Mrs, at least they got that bit right unlike me with the lady's name on the app Off to mop and stop analysing stuff haha!

Why would they have looked up uni records? It seems like a bit of a breech of privacy if they can just pull your records without informing you or getting your permission.
Seems odd to me that HR would be able to access student files.

That is all I can think of Onyx?? I dunno, all a bit weird really, but I am too exhausted by this whole shemozzle to care too much ... Mm thinking while typing again, I may have had to put in title when I filled out the online app form as well?? That could be it too baffled.

I'd say its probably just an assumption on their part Tan - your application setting out your experience so showing roughly your age, and then typical (and sometimes wrong) assumption that a woman of "that age" must be married.

Sorry about the job lovely. Just means something even better is just around the corner for you.

Have you put your maiden name on your application?

Nope hun, been married for over 8 years and stopped using it straight away! Must have either been an assumption or else the form I filled out on their site I think!
