I'm just wondering what normal weight gain is in older babies. I know it's supposed to slow down when they get older but I was just curious as to how much is normal. Dd has only put on 600g in 3 months. Is that fairly normal in a 10 month old. I'm not too worried about it but I'm just curious because for the first 6 months she was my heaviest baby by far weighing nearly 1kg heavier than her brothers but now she is my lightest weighing about 1.5 kg lighter than her brothers at the same age. Do little girls put on less weight than little boys t the same age??
I really don't know - to be honest I wouldn't even bother weighing at this age unless there's a specific concern. you can see if she's ok or not.
I suspect that sort of weight gain is fine, though, yeah.
Is she breastfed?? I know it's common for breastfed babies to level out in their weight and not put on much in the second half of the first year. My boy certainly was chubby but after he was 6 months old his weight gain definitely slowed, but he is still solid and a little chubby. They all grow differently anyway, and some babies take quicker to solids too which would make a difference also. It really depends on so many things, unless she looks skinny I really wouldn't worry, but you could always get her weight checked and compare it on the WHO chart to see her percentile for peace of mind. My boy was around 80th percentile earlier one but after 6 months he comfortably dropped to around mid 50th percentile and has stayed there since.
