    inflamed appendix

anyones child has inflamed appendix before?
did it end up infected and need removing or did it settle down and no treatment was required.

DD1 spent 4 hours in ED last night with suspected inflamed appendix or the beginnings of an infected appendix

My brother did, it ended up infected and had to come out. Sorry! I hope its not the case for your dd and she's ok.

    Thinking if you.

I was in and out of hospital with inflamed appendix as a kid, but for some reason they didn't ever take them out. I still have them and haven't had any issues since my early teens. On the other hand, my sister never had any issues with hers but ended up having emergency surgery to take her appendix out when she was about 18.

    me too

it's now been labelled "niggling appendix" for me.

hopefully it's something that doesn't become problematic for your DD

Mine was like that for months, I was diagnosed with IBS, endometriosis all kinds of things over 6 months until I got really sick and couldn't get out of bed and it was my appendix, saw a different dr who pressed down on it and omg the pain! Had it taken out that night and my symptoms disappeared. I had random tummy pain, bloating and throwing up.

I got an infected appendix at 12 and it was taken out the next day. I'm glad it's settled! It's so painful

    Me too. Mine's still there.
Mine caused me grief for months. I remember ending up in hossy but they didn't take it out.

She keeps complaining of pain that comes and goes... They told me its not a problem unless its accompained by fever, is that correct??

Otherwise known as a grumbling appendix. Yep usually fever and nausea/vomitting.
