Has anyone written one, or have any knowledge on the subject? I have a short book that is veritably writing itself, but I'm not sure how long the average eBook is - any clues?
Not 100% sure, but my understanding is that you can typically get away with shorter ebooks than regular published novels. I would imagine 25K is a shortish starter, 50K is a mid length and 80K (which is a regular novel length) is probably erring towards the lengthier end of the scale.
BUT best thing would be to do would be to explore a few ebook publishing platforms, as they will have FAQs and forums which will have suggestions re length. In my mind, length is less important than quality.
