    Christmas presents for nieces/nephews

I really don't know what to do. I have two nephews 14 & 16, we're lucky to see them once a year and that is usually Christmas Day :/

I have seen the 14 yr old a couple of times this year, but only cause 2 of my boys had birthday parties. The 16yr old didn't bother to show up to any of them. Apparently was to busy with the g/friend. I do interact with the 14yr old a bit on Facebook (rarely though), the 16 yr old did a new facebook and couldn't be bothered re adding me. When questioned on it he said "oh sorry new facebook" but still hasn't bothered.

I really don't want to buy them anything for Christmas but feel obliged to, cause their mum (ex sil) buys stuff for my boys. They also have a 5yr old brother who is technically no relation to us. Their mum had a child to another partner.

    Any advice?

Mum drew a line in the sand - once kids hit 13 (from memory) it was no more presents. given you've bought up until now, can you draw the line at 15 so you still buy for the younger kid and not the older one? if he gets his knickers in a twist, its' his issue - he is actively excluding you from his life, kinda has to expect it.....

Coles $5 HSV mens spray and body wash thing. It's cheap (won't break the budget) and means they get something for christmas on christmas day.

A itunes card or movie ticket is an easy present.
I buy my nephew a movie ticket each year and he is over 25. It is hard and maybe you can cut out presents when they turn 18. My Mum stopped buying the girls Christmas presents once they turned 21 and is doing the same for the other grandchildren.
I buy for 2 BIL's children even though they are grown and some are married but we see them nearly every week but don't get anything for the ones we hardly ever see.

It's hard to know what to do

I agree with movie ticket or iTunes voucher, and discussing about drawing the line at a certain age

Yep. I would just do a token gift.

What about one of those cadbury chocolate stockings? Its not too $$ and they get something. Otherwise one of those mens gift packs are just as good.

Yeah last year I got them credit for their phones, and will probably be the way I go this year. I think the age limit thing is a good idea.
