Anyone had a "walking" Epidural for pain relief?

A friend of mine who is preg with #3 was asking me if I knew anything about walking epi's. So I thought I'd throw it out there to you lovely ladies.

Her second birth was much more intense than her first and she is worried about coping with the pain this time around. She wants to remain mobile so thought a walking epi might be an option for her. Although, considering her second labour was only 3 hours I've told her I have my doubts she'll get to hospital in time for an Epi to be administered

I don't know if that's what they especially called it, but I could still get up and walk around with the epidural in for Penguin's birth - was so much better, could feel pretty well everything, the urge to push etc but just not the pain of the contractions. They had me up and on the fitball for a little while, standing next to the bed etc until it interfered with the monitoring too much.

I had it was my last two. I didn't walk around as I was hooked up to monitors as well. It's a trigger system so you control it yourself.
They give you a button to push when you like, it can only be pressed maximum every 15mins.
It's quite good, as you can control how much.
I don't think all hospitals/anaesthetics offer this, so she would need to ask her OB or MW.
