Another help thread for Head Lice

On the weekend we discovered that DD had head lice. After looking through BB we decided to treat her hair using conditioner and metal head lice comb.
I also straightened her hair. This was 2 days ago but she is still itching. I have checked her hair again and I can see anything in it. We were planning on retreating her the end of this week.

Is there anything that I can do to stop the itching? While its not as much as before she is becoming upset when she itches her head (I don't think it hurts her as she just says it itches).

You may have missed some of the little suckers, or her scalp might still be inflamed. Fwiw, if I'm only using a conditioner treatment, it's important to do it again a couple of days later (I aim for day 3) and keep repeating until you're getting nothing with the comb thru. Do *not* rely on a visual inspection cos they blend in to the hair colour really well. And your combing technique is important, get really small sections and start right at the scalp, make sure you don't miss any spots. It only takes missing one or two and they can be overrun again.
