    Christmas side dishes

ok, so I'm cooking the sides for Christmas dinner ... I'm looking for things which are veggie friendly for my BIL, but quite robust, and with plenty of potatoes.

    at the moment, I'm thinking:-

    • roasted rosemary and butter potatoes
    • baked ginger and honey carrots
    • steamed green beans with parmesan crumb

    thoughts? other ideas?

what are your best side recipes?

It's going with a lamb roast, and is for 6 adults and an 18 month old.

    TIA

Roast pumpkin, red capsicum and fetta salad. It's a warm salad but it's like roasted veggies. Roast pumpkin pieces (as big or as small as you want just adjust cooking time), about 10 minutes towards the end add red capsicum strips, chopped or sliced red onion and a good sprinkling of fetta.

perfect - a couscous dish would round it out beautifully!

I remember doing one ages ago, with currants, sweet potato, beans, beetroot, mint ... not sure what else ... will have to find the recipe

My step mum is doing a dish with carrots, parsnip, butter nut pumpkin and red onion a bit of olive oil and some chilli flakes. Roast then top with diced bacon and crumbled feta and cook for another 10 mins its delish

We are also having a chef salad, with spinach leaves, cucumber, tomato, avocado, red onion, cheese, roasted pine nuts, pistachio, and cold grilled bacon and salami (I could eat it as a meal)

MIL is bringing a pasta sald for DH's niece and brother who prefer the food a bit plain

We have a roast turkey, cold sliced ham and dad wants to do something in the webber and roast spuds

There will be left overs for a week Im sure as there will only be 11 of us for lunch, but lots of people coming in the arvo so hopefully they might eat something

They all sound so delicious! Mine sounds a bit boring but one of our favourite side dishes is asparagus sautéed in garlic butter with mash potato. Yummy and too easy
