Sri Lanka and a two year old!

    Hi,
we are planing a trip to Sri Lanka in July and are tossing up wether to take out two year old daughter (not toilet trained and still requires the occasional day sleep) with us.

We were thinking of taking a private tour (Exotic Lanka Holidays) which means a private car and all accomodation/entrance fees paid. we (hubby and I) are experienced travellers but never travelled outside aust with our daughter. It will be for 12 days.

Any advice should we take her?

    Thanks in advance

    Lisa

We've been on a few holidays now with our DDs (now aged 3.5 and 4.5) and the best advice I can give is that if it is a holiday aimed at adult stuff, ie lots of sight seeing, temples, museums etc then your DD will probably not have that much fun. And if she's not having fun, you're not having fun! Our last two holidays have been planned first and foremost on what the girls will enjoy doing and as a result, we've all enjoyed them. Some of our holidays have been with nappied children and while its a bit of a pain carting them around, that wouldn't stop me taking them.

Also, what is the medical care like in Sri Lanka? Can you drink the tap water? Always a concern trying to convince a little one not to drink the bath water, swallow water when brushing teeth etc.
