    What's this?

Ff Ds has in the last 2 days although only a couple weeks old anyway(no new teet, bottle or formula) started throwing up at least 20ml after most feeds and when I put him ti bed after hear him choking on it.... 3 questions

Why is he doing it/what is it?
    How do I stop it?
Should I lie him on his side?

Apart from thinking that your DS is just drinking a little too much, I have nothing else to consider. How soon after drinking do you put him to bed? Can you keep him upright for a little while, make sure he has a good burp then put him down? Could be a little reflux?

He does it after only a third of his boyle as well so I gues he isn't drinking too much, dh and I had a gastro bug but I would think ge would be fairly sick if he got it

Hi Jelly, Alex throws up a little all throughout the day if that helps you at all. I'm not concerned as I believe a little vomiting is normal for newborns due to their digestive system not being in full working order just yet ITMS. I think also being so young they're still learning how much milk to take and might swallow too much.

Try keeping him upright for a little while after he's had his bottle, maybe even elevate the head of his cot. As for the choking, Alex seems to gag before he throws up at times, it does look scary so I can understand your concern.

However, if he seems to be in pain (screaming etc) or if you see any signs of dehydration (sunken fontanelle, fewer wet nappies, darker wees etc) get him checked out. If there is anything besides milk in his vomit or doesn't stop get him checked out.

    Hope that helps!

My DD does this also everytime I lie her on her back I have elevated the end of her bassonette which helps quite a bit and I find I am burping her for ages just to try and stop.
