DS fell off bed. Help please!

My DS fell off the bed. He & DH were playing on the bed and he slipped out of DH's hands and fell, head first (side of head). He cried for a bit and basically fell asleep in my arms. How do I know he's okay?

He's sleeping now. Assumed the sleeping is just tiredness as he's been awake since 6am.

    How old is he??
DD has fallen off the bed a few times and she's OK.
I never let her fall asleep for at last 20 minutes after a fall, but when he wakes up if he's still drowsy or not acting like himself then go to the hospital.

    Kids are pretty tough.

Signs of concussion include vomiting, confusion, bruising behind ears/eyes.

It's ok to let him sleep, just check on him every now and again, try to rouse him occasionally- he doesn't have to wake, just stir.

Go with your gut. If you think something is wrong take him to see a doctor/ hospital/ call nurse on call.
It is better to go and find out he's fine, than not and have a very sick little boy.

My DS1 came flying off our bed when he was almost 1. My aunt (who is a GP) said that unless the fall is from over 1m or onto concrete, it is unlikely to cause concussion.

He's awake and his normal, happy self. Currently trying to eat his pink crayon! :-)
