Karma bites... and so does DD!

    Hello there,

*confession* I was a biter - I went through a phase of biting my sister when I was little, and apparently occasionally I'd bite Mum too. Mum tried everything, including biting me, which didn't work! I grew out of it eventually.

But now my lovely 13.5 month old DD is biting me. (Hellooooo Karma!) It really hurts as she has such sharp little teeth - the most serious times, she bruised my shoulder last week and actually nipped a bit of skin off my boob THROUGH MY T-SHIRT today. Both times I yelped, and today I put her down and walked away to get a tissue to mop up the blood - she didn't like me moving away obviously. Later, she was snuggling into my tummy and went to bite again so I moved back. I don't want to pull away from her, but I don't want her to bite me anymore either!

She doesn't bite anyone else - just me. I am worried though that she'll take her newfound trick back to daycare with her next week... Any advice welcome!

I can't believe that something that gorgeous would bite you. She is so adorable.
DD bit DH today for the first time. Maybe it's an age thing?
My brother bit occationally, that was before he was walking.

Hope someone has some advice for you.

ahhh hun - although for a moment though I thought *you* had bitten your DD! (btw, that doesn't work, don't try it).

With my Pip it was a communication / frustration thing. He did grow out of it. You're doing all the right things. I hope you don't get too much hurts

Sounds like a form of affection from your DD. I'd just keep putting her down and asking her not to bite b/c it hurts
