I think it's fine. And I love the name! Plus I think it goes well with your dd1's name xxx
We really like the name Aubrey (nickname Bree) but I have a cousin who has a daughter, Audrey. They live in a different state and I only really see them every year or two but obviously, they are family. I see my aunty more frequently and my parents see them quite a bit more too.
I've thought about asking my mum what she thinks about the closeness of it all but we were hoping to keep the name a surprise for when she is born so haven't. We were discussing names over the weekend and she mentioned she liked Kayla but as I have a cousin Karla that might be too close so I can imagine her thoughts on it and I have similar reservations but I just really love the name Aubrey, doh.
Do you think it is too close? Not sure what to do...
I think it's fine. And I love the name! Plus I think it goes well with your dd1's name xxx
I think if you call her Bree more than Aubrey then it wont really matter![]()
I love the name Bree, just keep the name as Bree.
I love it and think it will be fine to use. I don't really have any rules with names though, I say if you love it then use it.
I don't think it is too close.. After all I have an uncle Peter who named his daughter Peta...
And if you love the name, I would do it.. I think it is beautiful and goes with DD1 as well..
i think it would be fine - if your children were likely to hang out a few times a week, it might be a bit much but as you only see them infrequently i don't think it matters.
and people can always use the name bree for your DD when audrey is around or they're talking about both children if they think there will be any confusion.
it's tough finding a name you love & agree on so i reckon go for it!
I love the name, wouldn't worry about it being similar.
Love it. Go for it.
I was also leaning towards it being fine but was worried that was because I really want to use the name! I'm glad others think it isn't too odd to consider. They will only really see eachother once a year at most so I can't imagine it causing too much trouble. My mum and her sister (my aunty) discuss their respective grandchildren but as someone mentioned, they can just call her Bree if it ever gets too confusing.
I also think it suits DD1s name (Imogen) really well, I'm glad other people agreeI found this name early on but had dismissed it because of the similarity although it was always in the back of my mind so I only decided to bring it up with DP yesterday and he also loves it... I'm 40w 1d and this is the first name I've felt completely sure of (DP has had a few others he has liked and although they are nice, they just never felt completely right to me) so going back to the drawing board would be a bit disheartening!!
While I am here... anyone have thoughts on a middle name? Imogen's is Jade. Last name starts with B and is one syllable.
Aubrey Rose sounds devine![]()
I think it's fine. My DS is Hayden & I have cousins with a Jaidyn & an Aidan. At the time I didn't see either of them often (maybe once a year). Since then, the Aidan has moved closer & we see them almost every week but it's not an issue. Also my DD is Emily & another cousin named her DD Emily last month. I have seen her once in about 15 years (and that was over 2 years ago) so definately not an issue. I didn't mind at all. When I named DD, my mum told me that my cousin had said she wanted to name her baby that if it was a girl & I told her I wouldn't be mad at all if anything it's a compliment because she likes the name. I would say that would have got back to her via the family grapevine.
I love the NN Bree. CuteIt definately goes with DD1's name.
Aubrey Paige
Aubrey Kate
Don't stress. On just my Dad's side, my cousins' kids' names almost all finish in the same sound - Zachary, Jeremy, Molly, Milly (really Amelia, but we call her Milly), Lily... There's only two that don't rhyme![]()
Perfect! Use it!
v cute, it isnt the same name so i woudnt worry if you arent too close.
Bree is gorgeous too.
good luck!
Go with what you love. Do you think spelling it Aubree would make it feel less like its similar to Audrey because it looks different? Otherwise you could just got with Brie/Bree or Briella/Brielle is pretty too. I think if you absolutely love Aubrey though, go for it. Yes its similar but its not the same. My daughter has a similar name to my cousins daughters name, no one has ever said a thing about it and it certainly doesnt bother me.
I quite like Aubrey Shiloh... but but yeah, the obvious connections... hmm...
