Red face Do you remember the words to.....

Any hand clapping games that you used to to as a kid??? (Mods feel free to move - wasn't sure where else it would go....)

I have been trying to remember the words so I can teach Miss J some. All I can remember is Miss Mary Mack all dressed in black and Oh say my playmate.

Anyone have any others they can remember??? Also after the ones for the elastics too. I know the one that goes England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, inside, outside inside on!

    TIA Girls x

    I saw my boyfriend talking
    To a pretty little girl
    with a chocolate curl
And this is what he said, said, said
    I L O V E love you
    I K I double S kiss you
So I threw him in the lake
    And he swallowed a snake
And came out with a belly ache

A sailor went to sea, sea, sea (clapping then hand over eye tap 3 times for sea, sea, sea <see, see, see>)
To see what he could sea, sea, sea
And all that he could see, see, see
Was the bottom of the deep blue, sea, sea.

And you continue with chop, chop, chop (chop on arm0
    Knee, knee, knee (tap knee)
    Toe, toe, toe (touch toe)
Then do all together, see, chop, knee, toe.

Doesn't make much sense but I guess those games didn't.

Then there was one about Chinese girls which isn't so politically correct

    Chinese girls are so funny
This is how they count their money
Bushka, bushka, give a little pushka (bump bottoms for this part)

Down by the banks of the hanky panky,
Where the bullfrogs jump from bank to banky,
With a hip, hop, swim in the sea,
    Boom shalalalala, ker-plop.

    With complicated hand movements, LOL.

    Or another one that goes.
    1,2,3 together,
    up together,
    down together,
    back, front, knees, together,
    lets do it again!

You kinda have to know the hand movements for it to make sense, lol.

It seems there are different versions of that first one. The way we used to sing it was
My name is elli elli, chickali chilali, ooly ooly up up up. Jump in a lake and swallow a snake and come out with a belly ache (at which point you try and pole each other in the belly without getting poked).

I think this was my favourite growing up
Down by the banks of the hanky panky, where the bullfrogs jump from bank to banky with a hop, hop, rattle and a pop (again you'd try and poke each other without getting poked)

Now I'm kinda hoping this baby is a girl, just so I can do these with her when she's a bit older (boys always seemed to be far too cool for this)

my DD must have learnt this one as school because she was always saying the first few lines and wanted me to teach her but I had no idea what she was talking about lol

I used to love these but I can't think of any others that haven't been written already - my little sister knew heaps more than I did though lol

    Fun!

    We used to do...

My boyfriend gave me an apple
My boyfriend gave me a pear
My boyfriend gave me a kiss on the lips
And I threw him down the stairs
    I threw him over London
    I threw him over France
I threw him over the Harbour Bridge
    And he lost his underpants

Also... (I'd be interested to know if this is something my mum just made up for us kids, or if anyone else has heard it?)

    Under the rainbow
    Under the sea
    Boom boom boom
    True love forever
    True love for me
    And we when get married
    We'll have some children
    Under the rainbow
    Under the sea
    Boom boom boom, boom!

And... (my memory is very fuzzy on this one, don't even think these are the words)

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls
    We're gonna rock
    Rock shoo bada bada rock
    Rock shoo bada bada rock
We're gonna go upstairs, say our prayers
Go downstairs where the boogeyman says
    We're gonna rock
    Rock shoo bada bada rock
    Rock shoo bada bada rock...

    And also...

Patty cake patty cake baker's man
Bake me a cake as fast as you can
Pat it and ***** it and mark it with "B"
And put it in the oven for baby and me.

    Plus...

I went to a Chinese restaurant to buy a loaf of bread, bread, bread
He wrapped it up in a five dollar note and this is what he said, said, said
    My name is El-eye, El-eye, chika-lye chika-lye, oo-ee oo-ee, buck buck buck
Jump in the lake and swallow a snake and come back with a bellyache!

    And...
My mother, your mother, live down the street
    18, 19 Marble Street.
Everytime they have a fight, this is what they tell me
Boys are rotten, made out of cotton
Girls are sexy, made out of Pepsi
Eensi, weensie lollypop, eensi weensie woo
Eensie weensie lollypop, the boys love you
And that is (not) true! (depending on how much you loved the boys! )

Anyone have any others they can remember??? Also after the ones for the elastics too. I know the one that goes England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, inside, outside inside on!
We had this one, but instead of saying "Inside on" at the end, we said "puppy dogs tails!" which makes no sense except it rhymes. But that's when you jumped on the elastics.

under the bamboo, under the tree (cha, cha, cha)
true love for you my darling, true love for me my darling,
when we get married we will raise a family under the old bamboo tree
cha ........... cha ............ cha cha cha BOOM!
    Our version went like this:
Under the bamboo, under the tree, cha cha cha
True love for me my darling, true love for you
When we get married, we'll have a family
A boy for you and a girl for me
    Boom boddy ya ya, sexy!

We used to do Under the Bamboo as well.

We also did A Sailor went to Sea.. A Sailor went to sea, sea, sea to see what he could see, see see and you would do the actions.

This one wasn't a hand clapping game as such, you had someone opposite you holding your hands together like a bridge and kids would walk through, the when you got to the head part you caught someone!!

    Oranges and lemons,
Say the bells of St. Clement's.

    You owe me five farthings,
Say the bells of St. Martin's.

    When will you pay me?
Say the bells of Old Bailey.

    When I grow rich,
    Say the bells of Shoreditch.

    When will that be?
    Say the bells of Stepney.

    I do not know,
Says the great bell of Bow.

Here comes a candle to light you to bed,
And here comes a chopper to chop off your head
