I'm looking for a holiday destination to go for my 40th, in June, somewhere different with a bit of everything to keep both DH and i occupied (I would love a tropical island but DH would get BORED quickly). I stumbled across Lord Howe Island after seeing an ad in the Age travel supplement and looked it up on the internet, it looks fantastic- mountains, beaches, rainforest- lots of activities and relaxation , whatever you want.

Anyone been there?

My only hesitation is the weather, living in Victoria and always having a birthday in winter, I love to get away to sunshine, and I think this island is more temperate in winter ( 15-20deg)- I was originally planning a Bali or Darwin getaway but I've been to Bali twice and lived in Darwin for 2 yrs so a new experience may win out.

Would loveto hear anyone's experiences xx
