Unhappy Help me - 6yo playing with FIRE

I am really hoping this was a one off REALLY I am

Today I went to the toilet (as you do) and when I came out DD2's bedroom door was shut and I smelled smoke I looked in the kitchen thinking I may have left something on, before opening DD2's door to find DD1 crouched on the floor with a candle and the stove lighter

I yelled, but she smiled and giggled at me

I don't even want to think of the "what if's"

I tried to explain to her about fire (which we have done before) but she just kept smiling at me

Soooo I need help, WTF do I do????

I just took her out the back and set a stuffed toy and a shirt on fire to show her what fire does, I am now scared about encouraging her.

    Please help!!!

Can you take her to the local CFA to discuss fire safety?

I'd be asking the school for hints too.

Lock all lighters, matches or stove lighters in a cupboard and tell her should she be caught touching them or trying to get them there will be punishment (your choice what)

I hope it was a once off but she needs to be aware it's a NO and it's DANGEROUS. All kids go through this stage but she has to understand.

    Prob no help, good luck!

I agree. Take her to a local fire station. Give them a call and say what's happened and ask to bring her by for a visit and talk about fire dangers. Alot are very willing to do this. They have open days but I think there in may.

I know we have quite a few CFA members here or their OH's are
    Members, hopefully someone pops in.
