Taking bub out in the fresh air and sunshine can help them learn what day is.

My DS did that too. As much I hate waking a sleeping baby, I woke him up if he started sleeping too long (as in more than 3 hours). I only had to do it twice.

I think that may be part of the problem he was going out in the sun but it has been raining and overcast all week and were flood in so can't go anywhere

I made the house really bright and noisy during the day and quiet and dark at night to help with this, and do bath time in the evening instead of play to signify night time for bubs.

I second making the house bright and noisy during the day, but also do you have a definite night-time ritual? Even this early it can help to have a little routine/ritual that says it's bed time, ours is shower/bath time, feed, story then cuddles to sleep. I also put him down to sleep in a different room for daytime vs night-time, daytime he sleeps in a portacot in the lounge room and night time he's in his cradle next to my bed.
