    Around Cairns???

Okay, have just booked flights to Cairns for end of March for two weeks....was thinking of Palm Cove....but would love any other suggestions....

DH will be working in Cairns so needs to be able to drive there okay for work.
    Family friendly, kids club (?)
    Children will be 1, 3 & 5
Walking distance to shops, facilities, etc, as I won't have a car in the day

So what towns/villages or resort would you recommend.

    Thanking you in advance.

Trinity beach, roydon apartments - they are enormous and so well equpied and trinity beach is so chilled and relaxed. We had the best holiday there in sept with a 2 and 5 yo. call Eddie tell him Naomi in Melbourne recommended the place. It is right On the beach, next to the bus stop that goes to cairns. Pm me if you like for more info.

Nai's on it there! I'm the next suburb towards town and used to live in Trinity and it's a short bus ride to Smithfield shops, about half an hour to the city, Trinity beach has a kid friendly pub, restaurants, corner store, footy club, a good bus line and a gorgeous beach. The only places with kids club here are far from town and to be honest not as nice areas. I doubt there would be much for under 5s.

Hi Ladies, thank you so much... Trinity Beach looks lovely and I had a look at Roydon Apartments - they look fantastic. Just a question, can you walk to a supermarket/IGA type place and also a playground. I wouldn't be confident taking the three kids on a bus to Smithfield shopping centre, that's all. Thanks again.

The IGA and playground are on the main road of Trinity Beach. They also have a drs etc so you could honestly go a few days without having to leave Trinity.

    Hi BooBoo!

Dh and I went last year for our anniversary and stayed at the sea temple palm cove. We got a private 3 bedroom apartment through stayz.com which was AWESOME value (really cheap compared to anything else of the same standard) and it has full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, dining lounge etc. we loved it and would completely recommend it

If Dh is working in town
    why not stay in town?
    Esp near the Espanade
When is say town- Cairns town isnt that big or busy compared to most main towns
There are a few attraction in town including muddies which is an ace public pool
there are also markets, shopping towns etc in town as well

if you want to stay at the northern beaches, trinity is probably the best tourist one for kids. but you are looking at about a 20-30 min commute into town
smithfield shopping centre isnt big either and is one long single strip of shops , but it has the basics of everything
Palm Cove is nice too but more for couples, and can get a bit expensive and flashy as its more commercialised where as trinty is more bare roots fun and no 5 star resturants etc

also be aware that there still could be stingers in the water at the end of march. Which means you can only swim safely in the beach water where a stinger net is in place.

HTH and enjoy paradise! Its awesome

We walked to the supermarket in trinity and they have a courtesy bus that drops you back at the apartment with your shopping
