DS is only new, but he has had a few power spews. They seem to come from nowhere, awhile after a feed, and there is a fair volume. I have been there each time and so can clean him up and make sure he is not breathing it in. I'm bit worried about if it happens when he is asleep on his back. He is not a noisy chucker, so if i wasn't right there i might not hear it.
How do you sleep your chucky baby?
On our bed, we can put him on his side, but i am not sure if this is ok and what to do in the hammock?
I used to sleep DD on her tummy but then we couldn't use the hammock. She was always strong in the neck though and could lift her head and move it. Although a few times I went to check on her I found her whole head covered in spew in her eyelashes and everything which made mummy sad. When she was little though she used to sleep out in the lounge so I always had an eye on her. Sorry just realised that's no help at all lol
I used to sleep DD1 with the head end of her cradle raised, and then used to try to make sure her head was to one side - in the early days that worked but once she got better head strength obviously she moved it when she wanted. During the day when I was around I slept her on her tummy like Em says. Was too nervous to leave her like that at night though.
I know a few people who get those snuggle cushion things and alter them so their babies sleep on their sides. Not sure about SIDS issues with that sort of thing though?
