Sorry for the TMI but all day I have been bleeding really heavily. Constantly. The clots are huge and when I pass them I have to push them out. When I stand, blood kind of gushes out... I am guessing it is because of the progesterone and clexane I have been taking, combined with my usual heavy periods
My question is, am I right in assuming that AF bleeding is finite?? Once the uterine lining is gone, it's gone and the blood just can't keep coming iykwim????
I tried to ring my clinic but they closed early...
Yes, that is my understanding about AF too. If it continues to be heavy go to the hospital hun. Sounds very unusual. When was your t'fer day? Am just thinking heavy bleeding can be a luteal phase defect (ie: too short) and that can result in heavy bleeding. I hope you are ok hun ((hugs))
I would think so too. Last AF I could feel it gushing out literally when I was upright I figured because first month on fertility drugs of sorts. But and this is a biggy I didn't have clots.
This would worry me, I would be inclined to ring an on call nurse or local hospital.
Hope it settles down.
I had my transfer 12 days ago. I got AF yesterday so it was 14dpo.
I always have some clots due to the adenomyosis I have but they are just constant and some are the size of my palm. I will ring hospital if it gets worse.
Sorry n2l - I found mine was super heavy and very painful when I had bfn last transfer - i think you were the one that told me the progesterone does that - which was very comforting
The clots were so gross and I had to use night time pads and changed them do often it was gross.
I really am sorry it's so bad - on top of a bfn you get a yucky period which is so unfair - just to top it off.
Big hugs from everyone here - we all appreciate the support you give as you are always ready to support and answer questions. I do hope we are able to give you as much as you give us.
Look after yourself.
Wow! Thank you everyone. It's lovely to have so much support. To be honest, it's a little overwhelming...so thank you xxx
I didn't end up ringing the hospital. I didn't want them to say come in (it's a long drive). The bleeding got a little better (still heavy but clots smaller) but the cramps were horrible. I took Panadeine forte and Nurofen together and they still felt like I was being stabbed. My hips ached too... I eventually fell asleep though and today they are not as bad. I will ring my clinic.
Yep, myturn, the progesterone does make it worse (and the clexane too) but this is the worst I have had post cycle. I think the size and constancy of the clots freaked me out a bit. You're right about the bfn being made worse by a sucky period
Thanks again everyone for your wonderful support and concern. I really appreciate it
Oh no N2L, that sounds awful! Hope things are easing and you only have to deal with a normally sucky period. Sorry about the BFN. I hope you're at least getting lots of waiting on while you're on that couch.
