Did you know that you need a medical certificate to fly while pregnant with Tiger from 30 weeks? I changed airlines at the last minute and must have only checked the original airline, so I turned up without it (at 30 weeks). DS and I were visiting my family interstate and almost didn't make it!

We were so lucky that the staff at Tiger were amazing, and even let me call the hospital to try and get it faxed which amazingly my ob just happened to be nearby and could fax it straight away. We only had 5 mins before the flight closed so they could have easily just said no, sorry, come back tomorrow, but they asked the pilot and he gave us extra time, they were so wonderful. Both flights with Tiger were fantastic, I was really impressed.

When we got to Sydney I went to the gp to get another certificate, just in case they didn't like the faxed copy on the way back. He wouldn't give it me! He said he couldn't recommend flying after 28 weeks, and I'd have to go to the hospital for a full check up and ask them. Who'd have thought a 1 hour flight could be so complicated!

I managed to get another certificate from a different gp, and made it home

So, if you're planning on flying while pregnant, make sure you don't make my mistake, read the fine print of the right airline!
