Thank you to DS's Job Network Agency

DS16 started Cert 2 in Mechanics yesterday and they were told they need to pay their fees by Monday or they will get kicked out. The fees are $300 which I just can't pay in such short notice so I rang the Institute to see whether I could pay half today and balance next fortnight, I was told this couldn't be done, needs to be paid in full. Recently through Centrelink DS was matched up with a Job Network so I gave her a call and she explained to me that they would reimburse the fees after I pay but when I explained the situation she was so understanding and said not to worry they will send the Institute a cheque for the fees . DS would have been devastated if he couldn't have continued, there are other students who don't have a HCC and their fees are $900, it's such a shame if they can't continue because of fees, just doesn't seem fair.

    Regards,
    Dianne

I only just read this. Wow what a great job network he has. Shows some people still care about youth.

That's fantastic, it's always nice when companies go the extra mile. It's pretty crappy of the tafe to demand that amount of money on such short notice though.

Wow I agree that's great. $300 is a lot of money to come up with short notice.

Thanks ladies, he really is loving the course and I'm so grateful for what she did. I would have felt awful if DS couldn't continue because of money. It is so good to see that they really look after the youth giving them these opportunities.
