    16 month old speech

DS was born in oct 2010 and i feel like he should be talking a bit more.
he will say mum or dad e very now and then but its more of a sound then the actual word. he says ta.
he makes this ge sound from the back of his throat for anything he wants.
    Should be be talking more?

Not at all. Does he understand what you are saying and can he hear you? If you are concerned about either of those things then get him checked but there are plenty of 20+ month kids in my mothers group who fit your description perfectly. 16 months is quite young for talking

Nope. My ds didn't start really saying anything much til about 19-20 months. One day he just had a massive word explosion and he hasn't come up for air since.

I used to really worry about it. Now I just wish he'd shut the hell up... Or at least stop telling me "no!"
