    Buying a wedding corset online?

I tried on wedding dresses for the first time yesterday and I am in LOVE with a dress - unfortunately it is way out of my budget!!

It had a proper corset bodice with a higher bust line than some of the others (which meant I wasn't bursting out of the top?) and the corset went down to my hips with a soft skirt coming out the bottom. It was absolutely divine - and probably well worth the $1800 (on sale) they were selling it for.

So I've been looking online and thinking that maybe I can buy just a corset bodice and find a skirt to go with it - kind of a 2 piece wedding dress. Most of the sites I can find that sell corsets are more 'naughty underwear' type corsets and not gorgeous lace ones like I saw yesterday.

Does anyone have any suggestions about where I could buy one? I would be happy with an online store or a real life one lol - I just need somewhere to start looking!

Something like that? You can easily just wear a skirt with one, It usually makes them seem more like clothes than underwear if you wear a skirt/pants/etc with them.

A friend who is a costumer buys her corset from Corsetwholesale. They have a huge range. Can't vouch for them personally, but hope to one day

I got my dress from mydress4less and saved $1500. With the Aussie dollar so strong it is well worth a look! I would never of gotten the dress of my dreams if I hadnt gotten it from there! There customer service is amazing too and they throw in freebies xo I fell in love with a maggie sottero gown in a bridal boutique in Sydney and bought the same one in the size I needed from mydress4less. It came with certificate of authenticity and was perfect!

I got both my corsets from Gallery Serpentine which is based in sydney but they also have an online store. Personally I think they are amazing and quite cheap aswell, compared to other places I have found. I've had my overbust corset for 7 years, my underbust for 5 and I wear them both semi regularly - The overbust in particular which normally gets worn at least 1-2 per month. They are still just as good as the day I bought them.

I bought my wedding dress off ebay - made to my measurements. It only cost me $300. (but if you are an ethically minded shopper, it might not be the best bet...)

Just on that, I just wanted to mention something. Yes it is cheaper, but the quality is not the same (they often use plastic beads instead of crystals for example) and doing that actually puts people out of business. I have a friend who owns a bridal store who is shutting her doors at the end of the financial year, because she spends so much time with brides who try on dresses, then go get a cheap copy made from ebay. She spends so much time working, and barely makes enough to cover her costs, let alone to have an income for herself. These sellers on ebay are causing small businesses to go out of business and the designers who's dresses are being stolen to also lose money.

Not saying don't do it that way, but it's something to keep in mind.
