Thumbs down Surely this is a hint i hate doing the washing...

Last night DP went on a bit of a rampage as he opened the washing machine which let out the most disgusting scent of mould we have ever smelt..

I have told him over and over i HATE doing the washing, which is why i only do it if i desperately need clean clothes. But he insisted i get all the washing done and the last load i forgot about..

Now i have to rewash these clothes, probably more than once to get the stench out.

Don't get me started on putting the clean clothes away! I spend hours folding and organising to have my big kid and little kid destroy it and put clothes everywhere.

It wouldnt so bad if i had a bigger machine! We have a 4.5 machine we need atleast a 7 for all the washing that accumulates over a week. But he can't justify paying for a new one when ours is perfectly fine *sigh* so what would be one load turns into 3-4. And with anotehr baby on the way we will have even MORE washing and i just dont have the time be washing all the time.

Maybe if i "accidently" break it he will let me buy a new one...

Oops! I don't mind washing. It's the hanging and folding I dislike.

What if you do a load a night? I put one on once Isaac is asleep and hang it out just before going to bed.

Because thats being organised and i for one am not organised. Well i used to be and then i had a baby and everything i used to do flew out the window. Sometimes i have things under control but then i go through a bad stage and it all gets too much again.

I can imagine! Though if i had a big washing machine it wouldn't take me an entire day to do one basket of washing! *sigh*

I'm bad when it comes to washing... In the sense I wash way to much. I will wash even if there is only 3 things in the basket. I hate pegging it out though

I do a what feels like a kazillion loads a week and if I don't do at least one or two daily its just crazy. So definitely if you can do it bit by bit its not quite such a huge task so maybe not so bad. Otherwise, given this . . .

But he insisted i get all the washing done and the last load i forgot about..
I'd be telling him to get off his bum and do it himself!

I tell him to do his own. If he wants clean clothes he does it himself.

hun, i think maybe if he's not happy and your not overly thrilled then it's time to sit down and work maybe a roster or something.
Do you wash once a week or whenever it needs to be done?
I generally wash every second day, DP has his work clothes which i generally wash twice a week then i try and do say 2 big loads of the girls colors in a week, 1 load whites and then there are normally say 2-3 loads of darks (all of us).

Can you set yourself washing days? put the load on before bed and hang it when you get up, throw in another load when you take 1 out and then before lunch 3 loads of washing are hung and thats it for another 2-3 days?

I actually don't mind doing the washing and the hanging, it's the folding i hate.. DP doesn't touch our washing machine, he doesn't even know how to use it and if i told him to do his own washing i think he would have a heart attack, maybe as your's actually does know how, tell him you will do 1 day per week and he does another?

Good to hear he does his own LMS.

I'm doing the ironing this morning (I'm very clever to be able to type and iron at the same time aren't I and that's definitely the worst part of the whole washing thing for me.

My washing pile is enourmous! 4 kids 2 in cloth nappies a very dirty 3 year old having to wash the twins bedding daily as they are still pretty chucky.
I have a 7.5kg machine and do 2 loads a day ... Still not on top

Washing i dont mind but i often get too busy to either bring it in or fold it

Just waiting for my nesting to kick in. I can feel it coming. Last night i had the urge to scrub the kitchen floor.

Because my laundry is tiny and the door has to be closed at all times i forget that i have things to be hung out. Out of sight out of mind sort of thing.

DF does most of the washing here... *hides*

All I usually have to do is stick it in the washing machine.
