GTT - How did you feel afterwards??

    Hi Ladies,

I'm 24 weeks and had GD with my previous pregnancy so my OB skipped the 1 hour GTT and I went for my 2 hour GTT this morning. Last time I remember walking out feeling shaky, lightheaded and nauseous. This time round, I felt absolutely fine!

I'm hoping this is a good sign, that if my body is reacting differently then maybe I don't have GD? But with my history, PCOS and BMI, my OB has pretty much said it's more than likely I'll have it again this time round. *ugh*

Anyway, my question is, how did you feel after the GTT? And what was your result? Did you have GD for subsequent pregnancies??

    Thanks!

Well guess what! I passed my GTT for my second pregnancy! So so thrilled.

So I guess the change in symptoms after the test could be an indicator of whether or not you have GD...

Well done. You must feel relieved. I felt fine after mine with DS1.

Just a note, a friend of mine had hers at 26weeks and passed it. Her bub was born 4 weeks early and was very big & had blood sugar issues. In review, they think she developed GD, but she tested too early. It likely developed later. I dont want to be a downer. I'm pretty sure she overindulged on sweets in the 3rd trimester. It just made me decide that in future I'll do the test at 28weeks.

Great news! I'm not sure if there's any relationship between symptoms and results. I had one recently (non pregnant) and felt awful during and afterwards but results were completely normal on all fronts.

I felt fine after the test, and had GD. Confusing!

Yeah LB, my OB did say that potentially I could have tested to early so he said that I should do rand BSL tests throughout the 3rd trimester and if they keep coming back high then to revisit the GD diagnosis. But since I had GD for my first pregnancy I know what I need to do to keep everything in check so going to try really hard to make sure that my diet stays good for the rest of this pregnancy

I had GD last pregnancy. This pregnancy I have had the test twicw so far and well be having it again at 28 weeks. My dr said it can develop later on. With the last pregnancy think I did feel crappy after the test. This time I've felt fine.

So glad that you got good news!

With ds I felt so awful both during and afterwards, and no GD.
This time, felt absolutely fine and GD.
