Ear infection and a blocked ear

I went to the Dr today and it turns out I have an ear infection.. Ever since I put the drops in the ear blockage has not gone away (I had it on and off since last night)

Please tell me how to unblock it.. It is driving me insane. The only things I have tried are popping (holding nose and blowing) or rubbing behind my ear..

Sometimes a good yawn will help. I've also tried a warm (not as hot as id normally have) wheat bag while laying on one side around the ear to help loosen the gunk and then tried the hold nose while trying to unblock/ yawn. I found the wheat bag also helped ease the pain of the ear infection too.

Hate to break it to you.. But sometimes you can't unblock an infected blocked ear. You have to let it run its course..

The infection can cause more mucus than normal, and it doesn't drain away in your ear as easily as an uninfected ear.. So it pools until the infection goes down..

As frustrating as it is, you may just have to let it be..

yeah... sorry sweetness... but I too have found that sometimes... there's just nothing you can do!!! panadol for pain can sometimes make it less annoying, but otherwise... you might just have to wait!!!

(if you do figure out any fancy tricks I sure would love to know... last time I had an ear infection I too found it SOOO annoying! I could barely hear a thing!)

    hope you feel better soon

Hold your nose and swallow three times. Do this every half hour or so. This helps get the eustacean tubes draining into the throat, and it might help relieve that feeling of pressure. Using a saline nasal spray might help a little too. A decongestant like Demazin or dimetapp might help too.

Nope def not doing that. The only part I am touching is behind the ear and rubbing it gently.

You might also wanna try pulling the top curve of your ears gently towards the crown of you head, also helps drain your tubes. When i had my last sinus infection i was getting all sorts of goobers in many throat after doing that.
