    Psychometric Testing - 6 hours!?

Hoping someone has some insight into this for me!

I have applied for a job, which has a psychometric testing component to the selection and application process.

At the interview today I was told it could take 5-6hours. i have been exposed to much shorter - 40 mins or so testing processes in the past!

Anyone experienced such a long test like this? What to expect etc.

I've attended selection centres for lengthy periods in the past. Typically, it's broken down into a number of different sessions, some as short as 15 minutes or as long as 3 hours. Sorts of things that have been tested: verbal/non verbal logic (in an IQ-style test), basic maths/grammar, typing speed, personality measures (weird questions like what sort of movies you prefer and if you were on a cruise ship and XYZ happend would you a. b, or c?). Often there is a group work component - make sure you're involved, help steer the dynamic towards other quieter people so they too can be be involved.

Otherwise maybe it is all psych testing... heheh they want to get inside your braaaaaiiiiiiin!

I've also had long sessions for testing. I went to one that was 8 hours. Did my head in! Lots of shorter tests and forms to fill in. Good luck!
