So I am thinking ahead to Mr Moo's 3rd birthday, isn't til August but you know how it is Was thinking of getting him either a trike or a balance bike, but don't know which or what else he might like!

What did you give your kiddies?

We got DD a big bike. It's a standard bike with training wheels. Quite small, will probably only fit her for a year or so, but then DS will be able to use it

I bought my niece a balance bike for her 2nd bday - probably too early - and she doesn't use it. She's now 3.5. Sister gave her a Little Tykes cubby house for her bday. I think we gave her some books (a boxed set - Red Robin Classics I think, fairytales) and some PJs. Boring!!

Other things DD has loved that she got for this year's bday are Barbie (not really helpful for Moo - unless you're up for some gender challenging gifts), Littlest Pet Shop, a cash register and play money. She and DS both love the cash register - probably because it has buttons that really work and make "ding" noises!

We gave DS2 a leapster 2 and a few games I picked up in the Target toy sale. DD2 got a new bike, just a 12inch one. DS1 got a collection of wooden thomas things and I can't for the life of me remember what we got DD1 - I'd have to look at the photos from her birthday.

Both of my bigger children got bikes with training wheels on it. As well as other things I can't recall, but the big thing was a bike and a helmet.

A balance bike is perfect! Dd2 was 3 on the weekend and she rides hers everywhere (hers is dd1's hand down). She got some minney mouse undies, clothes, necklace with her name on it, cardboard colour in cubby house, a sleeping bag for camping and books.

a balance bike (suitable for her height). You can get balance bikes in different sizes and heights. Her first balance bike was from 18 months old (and she was an extra short 18 month old).

story books, building blocks, medical kit to pretend to be nurse, doctor. Prolly some dressups too. wow, only two years ago, and i'm having trouble remembering now, LOL.

My DDs bday is tomorrow! She is getting a beanie bear, some books and Sylvanian Family furniture.

I second the balance bike though. DD has been awesome on hers for about the last six months.

The balance bike seems to be a big hit at this age. We are planning on getting one for DS too in a couple of months when he turns 3. We're probably getting him a hipkids steel one that converts from a balance bike to a normal bike by adding the crank later. I like it because it has brakes on the handlebars and I wanted that for the balance bike stage too.

Happy Birthday to your little lady lilima We hope she has a great day xo

I've been thinking about what to get DS2 and i want to get something that is specificly for him. It can get really tricky with two of the same sex and trying to make presents individual. He's recently taken an interest in The Wiggles so i think i might try and find him Captain Featherswords' swoard or something else of The Wiggles. What's the bet i have something specific in mind like that i won't be able to find one anywhere?

We got DS a wooden lock activity box, a 100 piece wooden train set and some wooden chopping food. He got heaps of cool presents - one in particular that stood out though was a pot, watering can and sunflower seeds that came with a book about planting and waiting for a seed to grow (the pages opened out into a big sunflower).

DS is into Cars at the moment too, so a Lightening McQueen car he got has also been very popular.

DS in 3 in April, we are also planning on a Radio Flyer Trike. Originally we'd planned for a trampoline, but His Uncle and Grandad kindly pitched in and got him one for Christmas (I think its his favourite thing in the world)

Dd2 is three in March, she has asked for a Minnie towel with her name on it, she is also getting a swimming bag and bathers. She loves hats so will probably get her a new one. As for toys jigsaws, books with the alphabet, she also loves Thomas the tank. The easiest thing is to just ask him especially when you are out shopping so you can get him something he will love.
