When did your LO drop to one day sleep?

My DD seems to be dropping to one day sleep - she's just about to turn 10 months. It seems far too early? She probably would have two sleeps, but the second would be so late in the day that her bedtime would be later than I'm willing to stay up. She sleeps anywhere from 1.5 hours to 3 hours usually.

Just wondering what other bubs are/were doing? DS was around 12 months when he dropped to one day sleep.

I think my DD was around 11 months. She would have a morning nap and a afternoon nap now its 2-3 hours in the middle of the day.

DD1 I think was around 14 months until she dropped to one sleep. DD2 is 12 months now and still having two sleeps although it's only a short (1/2hr) morning one and then a long (2hr) afternoon one. But I say if that's what she wants, go with it! One sleep is so much easier, I can't wait! lol.

My DD dropped all her naps at 9 months, but started having one again at 12 months.

For us it was a very slow transition. It was probably around the 10/11 month mark when it started. We'd have a few days where we'd only get one nap in (in the morning) and then flip back to two for a couple of weeks, and back again, and again. But by the time he got to 18 months we had settled into consistently having one sleep a day.

Funny, we're just starting the same thing all over again with going to no sleep. This time though I'm happy for it to drag out for as long as it takes, longer even!

DD is 16 months & went down to one sleep over the last 2 or so months. I'm not happy with it! Most days that one sleep is only about an hour long.

DD1 was 10 months - she was the youngest to drop hers.

If its the weekend DD3 usually has 2 naps - 2 good naps. But with school drop offs stuffing things up, she usually has 10-15 minutes sleep in the car and then a longer one in the middle of the day.

DD2 dropped from 2 naps to one long nap at 9.5months. She sleeps for about 2.5/3hours now. DD1 dropped hers at about 15 months and I think it was because at DC she started going down only once and then kept it up at home.

ds was about 12 months old... he did sort of dilly dally a bit for a few weeks. some days it was 2 naps, other days just 1 good sleep. I hated it, it was hard to keep up. but by 13 month he was down to one 2-3 hr sleep in the middle of the day.... he's now 2yrs 2 mnths and sadly it looks like he may be ready to drop the sleeps altogther.... nnnnnnnooooooooooooooooo

Thanks for your replies everyone .

She had one sleep again today - she slept for somewhere between 1.5-2 hours. I think she may have liked longer but DS was after lunch and wasn't making it easy to resettle her. If she drops to just one sleep I hope she at least deals with it okay. Another early night for both kids I think (definitely an upside).

Can't remember with DD1 - she was always a great sleeper.

DD2 - really has only ever had one nap per day from about six weeks. Used to be only 40 minutes but started having a longer one when she was about 12 months old.
