    Super duper heavy AF...help!

AF has come early and it's ridiculously heavy, none of my m/c's have been this heavy.

I need to be out of the house for 4-5 hrs tomorrow and 2 hrs of that will be in the car. So far this moring a combination of pads and tampons are doing nothing, within 30 mins I had blood running down my legs. I'm hoping it will settle down but if not, does anyone have any tips for dealing with this? I can't cancel tomorrow as its DD's birthday (sucky timing).

can you get to a GP to get a script for cyklokapron? it slows the bleed/helps clotting. it's not ideal long term, but could help you for the next couple of days...

i also had the gyne registrar at the hospital suggest i go on progesterone again to stop af the go off it when i was ready for the bleed to happen (again, not ideal, but if it helps...). i guess it would depend on whether you have it available at home (i had it because i wasn't bleeding often enough so we had to force a bleed)

i had that a few months ago but i was also in extreme pain and losing large clots. my period has always been irregular with heavy bleeding on and off but never like that one!

i hope it eases for you!

jellybean88 - i took 2 nurofen plus and was using a heat pack and it still took 6 hours for the pain to go away! i ended up taking more nurofen plus just to have some sort of relief!
