I am currently 5 weeks and 5 days pregnant and having blood tests evey 3-4 days. The last couple of tests have shown my progesterone dropping from 74 to 68 and today it was 51. The nurse from the clinic said not too worry but I can increase my pessaries to 3 a day!
Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be concerned?
Sorry but these few weeks before the scan are proving to be very stressful. My last pregnancy ended up being a chemical disaster and the one beofre that I had perfect blood tests for 8 weeks and then at the scan I had the devasting sight of an empty sac as it was a blighted ovum.
Despite my hcg levels increasing nicely I am really sad and down, soooo scared that the scan will be bad news.
Yeah mine dropped with DD1 and they were even lower than yours (at one stage they were 26!!!). DD1 is currently wiping graving on the wall. Try and hang in there as hard as it is, the extra progesterone pessary should really help. Loula also had low P4. Thinking of you xoxo
Try not to worry hun , your nurse is right to not be concerned...
In both of my pregnancies (currently UTD with #2) my progesterone dropped significantly (very similar to your figures actually) and all has been well.
With my DS I experienced and posted the following on BB (was on 2 x pessaries p/day until 12wks):
'Unfortunately, the bad news is that my progesterone has dropped from 87.6 to 57.1 which is not good.... . Apparently anything above 30 is good though so I am above the minimum. I am back on the progesterone support tonight and will have to do it twice a day...'
Things turned out to be totally fine and the progesterone did eventually rise again. My DS is a happy, healthy little bundle of energy!
With my current pregnancy my numbers were as follows:
Started at 72 and then climbed to 90 and then dropped back to the 50 mark.... I was on 1 x pessary 3 x a day until 12wks. I am now 28wks and the pregnancy is going well.
I hope that this makes you feel better as the numbers can really play with your head. I remember being so stressed out about the falling numbers... so wanted to reassure you .
