I thought I was going to get a lecture or a snide remark...

My step mums father was here today for Dad's 50th b'day. He asked me if I wanted a drink (alcohol), and asked why when I refused.
When I told him it was because I have to breastfeed Isaac before bed,
He looked at me really surprised and said "STILL!? At his age?" (here we go, I thought)
    I said, "he's only 2.5, he's still a baby."
To which he said, "thats fantastic, good on you!"

Then later on he said that I had "made his day" and that he was really impressed. Then told me that when he was younger he was in the philipines and was trying to convince new mothers to breastfeed their babies.

    Just thought I'd share.

That's really cool. Some of the most positive responses to breastfeeding I've had have been from older men. Weird huh? One guy told me how he loved seeing mothers BF in public as it reminded him of watching his wife BF their children, and she had passed on now. Bet it put a smile on your face

I have also had tons of positive comments from older men about babywearing! They seem to love it! Maybe with all they have seen in their lives, wars, depression etc they just get wistful about babies being snuggled??

Fabulous! I was at a church camp last Sunday and one of the older guys said the most beautiful thing he ever saw was his wife bfing their two boys. Was lovely to hear as I was bfing my baby.
