Are you going away for the Easter break?

Are you going away over the Easter holidays? Where are you going what are you planning to do when you get there?

DH and I are still trying to decide if we want to go or not. Pretty soon everything will be booked out so we won't be able to go even if we want to

What's cheap? Don't say camping. I have tried camping.

We are going away with all of DH's family. It's a Farmstay Cottage up near The Grampians. There is going to be 12 adults + kids. We gave been arranging food and have decided a Costco run would be ideal for the groceries and meat. The place has an outdoor pizza oven as well. It should be great fun. We all get along pretty well and love a drink, chat and eating. The kids get along well. A couple of the kids are teenagers and the rest are under 12 yrs my DD being the youngest.
We plan on taking bikes and scooters. Being a working farm, there will be a lot for the kids to do.
Probably do a few walks and may visit a winery or two.

We will go away for a week, we have a caravan on DP's uncles property right on the Murray.
His uncle & cousins have a van & tents and we cook all our meals on the BBQ & fire, go fishing, take the girls in the boat, toast marshmallows.
The girls do an Easter egg hunt around camp & we all have a good laugh at how excited they get.

Have a staycation, get someone to come out and give you and hubby massages at home, get a babysitter and go out to a fancy schmancy dinner, and take the kids out one day to learn the awesomeness of geocaching!

No, I'm not going away this year. I think one of my friends is going to come down and visit, so will enjoy time with her.

Probably not as DP will most likely be working and our backyard is an awesome place for an Easter Egg hunt.

Onyx, I'm with you on camping but have you tried a caravan park? Cabins are pretty nice these days and they're really well set up for kids - swimming pools, playgrounds, indoor playrooms, sometimes scheduled kids activities and they can take their bikes. You wouldn't have caught me dead in one five years ago but I've become a huge fan.

Onyx I second the caravan park idea - depending on where you want to go, I've seen awesome Big 5 parks with crazy fun playgrounds in Queenscliff, Apollo Bay, Mount Gambier and all up the south coast of NSW. Google it.

We are off to Apollo Bay, to stay with my ILs in their beach house. Can't wait.

Even better, rumour has it the ILs are going to keep the kids for a few days after we come home! Wooo!
