Where would you live: Tweed Coast or Gold Coast?

Currently contemplating the two locations. Bit of a NSW vs QLD decision. We currently live in NSW.*

Hubby wants close to the beach but not too crowded.*

Where (& why) would you live with a young family, including a child starting school next year.*

It's a tough choice. Tweed coast is full of retirees who can't seem to understand the concept of NOT putting their hands all over my baby's face. Gold coast is full of spoilt brat teenagers, namely the variety afflicted with the 'can't pull my pants up beyond my pubes' disorder.

LOL, I've lost sight of why I moved here, or maybe the reasons to leave are directly related to me now being a grown up, not a spoilt brat teenager

Southern Goldy for sure. I love it here. Plus it's only 15 min tops to Tweed. It's a little busier than Tweed but not as busy as the north end. Good luck with your decision

It's tricky because we like the quieter beaches of the Tweed Coast, but there seem to be more schooling options further North.

Anyone know much about the Currumbin or Tallebudgera Valleys?

Are there any beaches on the southern end of the gold coast that aren't super touristy?

I think I Must be near Kylz. I'm sort of in the middle from Brisbane and gold coast. We love it but no waves at beach as straddie stops the waves.

Don't know either place that well but I'm not sure I'd want to raise kids in goldie.... But QLD is awesome

We live in the tweed coast and LOVE it!!! Yes there are lots of oldies .... We call it 'god's waiting room' haha cos they are all here waiting to die. Sorry that's awful LOL!!!

We moved here from Brissy and have never looked back. Tweed coast & south gold coast are so much quieter than central/north GC!! prettier beaches too

Currumbin & tally are highly sort after suburbs on the GC! Really beautiful parts of the coast.

Tally is lovely. We live over the hill from tally and go to the creek almost every day. I'm raising my kids on the GC and I was raised on the GC and I love it. Great climate and we're always outdoors and active. I don't see that as a bad place to raise kids. I definitely prefer the southern end though. Much less gaudiness and touristy stuff

Shanti, would love to catch up! Will pm u when I'm not on my phone

Lived in NSW most of my life. Broad very broad and probably wrong of me to say but DH and I just don't like where Sydney and NSW are headed. Qld is like NSW 20-30 years ago.

I must admit to being harsh about the gc too. Sorry. I think that there are beautiful parts of everywhere. If you don't really know the area I'd really suggest you rent before you buy and as the girls have said go south gc mt tambourine is Devine

Where would you live: Tweed Coast or Gold Coast?

Definitely Tweed Coast. We're half way between Brissie and the GC and have been considering moving down the the Tweed in the next few years..

We will be renting for about 6 mths to start with, and had planned to do so on the Tweed Coast, however, having discovered a few nice schools on the Gold Coast (Reedy Creek area), we're re-thinking where we should rent & therefore live because we've been told that the travel from Cabarita Beach (for eg) to Reedy Creek would be too far...

What are you girls deeming as South GC? No further than Miami, or not even as far as that?

I say anywhere from burleigh heads down as far as ocean shores in nsw. I don't know any further south than that too well.

And yes the drive from cabarita to reedy creek every day for school or anything in peak hour traffic could take you 45mins!! Maybe less.

South GC is better traffic flow and way less tourists!!!
